Resources Global Professionals is currently seeking professionals with Tax Accounting experience to join our Detroit practice. This position will oversee the accounting for U.S. Federal, U.S. State & Local and non-U.S. income taxes. Additional responsibilities will include involvement with monthly & quarterly accounting closes, interacting with the controller staff, the technical accounting group, the SEC group, the tax return group, the regional tax counsel group, and accounting staff located at the non-U.S. business units.
Specific Job Duties:
• Review standard and special Journal Vouchers (JVs)
• Review monthly Consolidated Journal Vouchers
• Review the consolidated annual forecasted effective tax rate (APB 28)
• Review analysis/walks related to actual tax recorded
• Review schedules related to actual and forecasted impact to cash flow due to taxes
• Review Monthly Account Reconciliations
• Review Quarterly and Year-end Consolidation schedules related to: Consolidated/Parent Company Deferred Taxes, Foreign Tax Credits/U.S. Residual Tax, APB 23, and Income Tax Payments
• Review Quarterly variance analysis
• Review the consolidating year-end schedules that are used to draft the deferred tax portion of the annual Income Tax Footnote for the 10-K
• Assist in miscellaneous projects
• Prepare Quarterly close schedules for deliverables for Global tax Director and to the external auditors
• Assist in the review of the annual Income Taxes Footnote that is in the 10-K filed with the SEC

Professional Qualifications:
• College degree with major in accounting, business administration or equivalent training required
• CPA required
• 7 to 10 years tax/accounting experience required
• Public Accounting Experience required
• Corporate federal tax return preparation experience required
• Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated commitment to teamwork and partnerships required
• Strong oral and written communication skills required
• Highly proficient personal computer skills and technology driven required
• Big 4 accounting firm experience preferred
• FAS 109 (accounting for income taxes) experience a preferred
• FIN 48 experience preferred
• Corporate tax department/Corporate accounting department experience preferred
• Master of taxation degree preferred
• Automotive experience preferred
